Aguirre, the Wrath of God

Peru around 1590-1591. Driven to the brink of existence by the conquistadors, the last Incas invent the legend of El Dorado, a land of pure gold. Under the leadership of Gonzalo Pizarro, a few hundred Spaniards set out into the impenetrable jungle. In moment of greatest despair, Don Lope de Aguirre (Klaus Kinski) seizes command and the search continues—deeper into the jungle, deeper into all-consuming madness.
