In the solo Deixa Arder (Let it Burn), the choreographers Marcela Levi and Lucía Russo address the topic of “identity.” In extreme closeness to the audience, Tamires Costa performs a burlesque and grotesque dance to the sound of funk, jazz, and pop. Music from great artists like Thelonius Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Nina Simone, Michael Jackson, Valeska Gert, Josephine Baker, Woody Woodpecker, Macunaima are remixed into dizzying, delirium-inducing frenzy.
