A group of teenage soldiers is training for an emergency in the Colombian hinterland. The mood is charged. So it is not long before the situation escalates and the troops are forced to retreat into the jungle along with a hostage. From this minimal plot framework, Alejandro Landes creates a surreal scenario that is visually and aurally overwhelming, transferring the psychological density of the island tragedy "Lord of the Flies" into the horror of modern warfare.
