DIGITAL OPENING

Welcome to the Digital Opening of CULTURESCAPES 2021 Amazonia! If you cannot be with us in Basel on September 29, please, join us in CULTURESCAPES Digital Space. The 16th edition of the festival opens with the keynote speech by Alessandra Korap Munduruku, human rights activist and leader of the Indigenous Munduruku community in Brazil.   Beat Jans, president of the Executive Council of Basel-Stadt greets the guests.   The festival director Jurriaan Cooiman offers a short insight into the Amazonian focus of the festival. Furthermore, you can find some short greetings by and Ibã Sales, a shaman from the Indigenous people of the Huni Kuin from the state of Acre in the south of the Brazilian Amazon.
