This course invites students and the public to come and interact with the visiting artists and scholars who participate in Culturescapes 2023 Sahara. Participants are invited to explore the links between art, society, and the political at their critical points of juncture. They will do this through the tools of cultural criticism, popular culture history, and practice. This engagement will take many shapes and guises: artists’ talks, public lectures, blog reportages. As all the lectures are open to the public, students will mediate conversations between the artists and the public and engage with Culturescapes’ curators, seeking to understand their motivations in making such a platform possible. The bulk of the course will follow the programme of Culturescapes 2023 Sahara. All the lectures and talk take place every Tuesday. They are held in English and open to the public. The course is developed and moderated by Dr.phil. Henri Michel Yéré.
