Three Perspectives on the Amazon: Water

Water will be a key resource in the future as climate change is leading to water scarcity and poorer water quality, sparking both national and international conflicts in the Amazon region. Efficient and fair water management is essential to promoting and securing peace, while also protecting the climate. This event aims to highlight how economic decisions in high-income countries, such as Switzerland, drive resource depletion in other parts of the world. The dicussion will take place in English. Daniela Thomas’ short film Tua Ingugu will be shown as part of the panel discussion. This event is part of the series Three Perspectives on the Amazon Three topics, three perspectives, three cities—in cooperation with the Swiss foreign policy think tank foraus and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), CULTURESCAPES 2021 Amazonia is hosting three panel discussions on issues of particular relevance to the Amazon region.
