A Burkinabè/Belgian dancer and choreographer, Serge Aimé Coulibaly immerses himself in the traditional events and forms accompanying life cycles. On the one hand, the Western tradition of carnival, on the other hand, the West African tradition of the Wara of the Senufo region. He explores the history and the different forms of these ancient transgression rituals and dances and develops a new ritual celebrating our contemporary world. "C La Vie", his latest production, is an adventurous and critical contemporary celebration of life, an overflow of energy that brings humanity together. It brings a resilient narrative with the liberating force of carnival, accumulates madness of creative power that merrily sweeps away all obstacles and ignores established rules and hierarchies. "C La Vie" is a collective celebration of uniqueness of lives. Serge Aimé Coulibaly is a dancer and choreographer from Burkina Faso. He was born in Bobo-Dioulasso and worked in Europe and elsewhere in the world since 2002. His inspiration comes from African culture. His art is committed to the power of contemporary dance that is rooted in emotion but also bears reflection and hope. His vigorous expressiveness makes his work universal finding response on several continents. Since he set up his Faso Danse Théâtre company in 2002, Serge Aimé Coulibaly has been exploring complex themes with the desire to offer young people genuine positive dynamism. His productions were presented in numerous theatres and festivals all over Europe and Africa. Website
